Individual and Group tours of Moscow and Environs

Kremlin is the centre and oldest part of Moscow. The  first fortress stood here in the middle of the 12th century. The word  “Kremlin” derives from the old Russian word “Kremnik” or “Kremlevnik” meaning “forest”. At that time this place was a pine forest. The present day Kremlin was created at the end of the 15th and  beginning of the 16th centuries by Italian and Russian architects. The Kremlin was like a small town: inside there were streets, squares and many churches and houses. Major ceremonies took place there (coronations, enthronements of patriarchs, burials of Great Princes, Tsars and Metropolitans).

Nowadays the Kremlin serves as a museum and also as  the residence of our president. You can visit it daily from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. except Thursdays.
