DAY 1

We are going to visit:
Christ the Saviour Cathedral (it’s possible to go inside) - the main Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox church which ranks the biggest Orthodox church in Europe. Adjacent to it is the Patriarch’s Bridge with its excellent view of the Kremlin and the gigantic Peter the Great monument.
Swamp Square with the lovers’ bridge and Mikhail Shemiakin’s monument “Children are the Victims of Adult Vices”.
Novodevichiy Convent – a graceful hermitage. The elegant cloister used to be a favorite place of pilgrimage for Russian royalty. Next to it is Novodevichiy cemetery, the burial place of Yeltsin, Khrushchev ,Chekhov and many other famous Soviets and Russians.
The Sparrow Hills observation platform is situated on the high bank of the Moscow River from which we can see an excellent cityscape; with its Stalinist skyscrapers and MGU building(Moscow State University) .
Victory Park - the memorial complex dedicated to the victory over Nazi Germany
Red Square - the symbol of Russia, the festive, multicolored St. Basil’s Cathedral (it’s possible to go inside), the Lenin mausoleum (inside optional), GUM – the 19th century shopping mall.
The Kremlin - the medieval fortress and the sacred place. We’ll visit the cathedrals built in the 15 -16th centuries, you will see the Tsar canon that weighs 40 tons, the Tsar Bell weighing 200 tons. The Kremlin was the residence of the tsars, soviet leaders and now houses the Presidential Office. Optional - the Armoury Chamber and the Diamond Fund Treasury.
Metro - we’ll have a look at several impressive Soviet-style stations.
